Christmas Day has come and gone, but that doesn’t have to mean the end of your holiday fun!
Did you know that lots of people leave their Christmas lights up long after the actual holiday?
This is especially true for official Christmas light display attractions. Some of them even run into the new year. If you’re looking for a fun way to make the magic of the season last a little longer, check out these spots for a chance to see some of America’s best Christmas lights.

Visit America’s Christmas Hometown – Santa Claus, IN
With a name like Santa Claus, you know this place has Christmas spirit! According to local legend, the town’s name was chosen back in the mid-1800s when it grew large enough to apply for its own federal post office. Back then, the town was known as “Santa Fe,” but had its application rejected because another town in the state was already using that name.
So, the people of the town gathered in the church to discuss a new town name. During this meeting, the story goes that the doors of the church blew open and the townsfolk heard sleigh bells outside. The children ran out calling “Santa Claus!” and the townsfolk decided that this was a fitting name for their settlement.
Christmas has been a major part of the town’s history ever since. Santa’s Candy Castle opened there in 1935, along with a giant Santa statue and Santa Claus Park. Eleven years later, Santa Claus Land opened there and continues to operate today as Holiday World. Throughout the year, there are several seasonal events dedicated to other holidays, as well.
Experience The Magic Of Branson, MI
This Missouri town has a multitude of events and entertainment for any occasion. The town is home to multiple theme parks, festivals, and several of the country’s greatest Christmas lights displays. Most of the town’s Christmas-themed attractions are open through the end of the year, so you still have time to get in on the fun.
For a traditional take on a Christmas lights festival, stop by Branson’s Gift Of Lights. Display themes include biblical scenes, the 12 Days of Christmas, and even dinosaurs. The event runs through January 1st and is open from dusk to 11 PM nightly.
Nationwide – Neighborhood Displays
Experiences may vary on this one. Depending on where you are, there may be lots of lights still up or your neighbors may be in a hurry to finish their holiday clean-up. For your best chances, look for the neighborhoods that put up bigger Christmas lights displays. The bigger the display, the longer it takes to put away. Therefore, the more likely they are to stay up long into the season.
For example, the Village of Pinecrest in Miami, Florida is known for mega-sized Christmas lights displays that are as impressive as the mansions around them. Don’t be surprised if you pass a South Florida limo in this neighborhood, which is home to a number of celebrities at any given time. For example, famous residents have included journalist Cristina Saralegui and the NBA’s Alonzo Mourning, as well as entertainers Timbaland and Pitbull.
The Best Way To See Christmas Lights
There’s just something about those tiny, twinkling bulbs that sets hearts aglow. Whether you’re young at heart or want to make special memories with your loved ones this holiday season, there’s nothing like the experience of driving through Christmas lights. Some people think luxury ground transportation is only for celebrities or weddings. However, booking a stretch limousine or party bus to see Christmas lights isn’t such a crazy idea. A1A Airport and Limousine Service provides chauffeured car services for any occasion! From corporate travel to family fun, we’ve got your ride handled!
There are actually several ways that an affordable limousine service can transform your typical Christmas lights driving tour into a magical experience.
Christmas Lights Look Better From The Back Of A Limo
Piling into the family van to check out the neighborhood Christmas lights is a popular tradition. However, updating your experience to include limo transportation can take it to the next level.
How is that?
When you leave the driving to the professionals, you can concentrate on what’s really important.
Focus On The Family
You can’t be staring at the lights when your eyes should be on the road! Leave the driving to the professionals while you enjoy looking at the Christmas lights with your loved ones. You won’t have to miss the kids’ faces as they react to the sparkling holiday spectacular.
If you’d like to travel alone or with a date, luxury sedans like Town Cars provide all of the comforts of a limousine without all of the extra seating.
See The Sights Like A Local
Your chauffeur knows the area well enough to know where to find the best displays of late-December Christmas lights. He or she also knows which high-traffic areas to avoid, so you won’t have to worry about that.
Keep It Cozy
Even if it’s not snowing, nights can get a little chilly after dark. Bundle up in the back of a limo with some hot chocolate for the ride! Rear climate controls let you keep the passenger space as toasty as you like it.
Ride With Pride
When you choose the best limousine service, you ride with the peace of mind that you and your family are traveling safely and comfortably without spending a fortune. This is just a small portion of the A1A Limo experience.
