Christmas travel becomes more popular every year. It’s a lovely time to get away, but traveling during Christmas can be expensive unless you plan ahead. Reserving plane tickets, luxury ground transportation, and hotels well in advance, will save you a lot of time and money. This opens up a whole new world of travel ideas.

Private Aviation: Fly Privately in Luxury

With about to go 51 weeks until next year’s holiday season, now is the best time to start your plans for the coming year. Check out some of these cool suggestions for the best Christmas travel destinations.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

If you’re a ski buff, Jackson Hole, Wyoming is the perfect place to spend the holidays! Jackson’s Town Square will delight you with all the trees wrapped in twinkling lights, as well as the square’s elk antler arches. The Jackson Hole Community Band and Chorale will be performing Christmas carols and Old Saint Nick will arrive by dogsled.

There will be lots of time for skiing, but you also won’t want to miss all of the Christmastime events, including:

  • A winter solstice bonfire and nighttime sleigh rides,

  • Live chamber music concerts,

  • Christmas ornament workshop,

  • A reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas held at the village fire pit.

To bring in the New Year, there is also an annual torchlight parade and fireworks at Snow King Resort. It is quite a sight and a lot of fun as participants ski down the mountain while holding flaming torches. What a great getaway for Christmas travel.

Christmas Travel Tip:

Flying Out of Town for the Holidays?

Reserve your airport shuttle in advance, as well as for the date of your return.

Booking your luxury ground transportation ahead of time ensures you receive the best price and the vehicle of your choice. Airport parking can be very expensive and it means you will have to deal with airport traffic at the peak of the traveling time. Save your time and energy for what’s really important — enjoying the sights and sounds of the holidays!

New York City

One of the most iconic places for Christmas travel is the one and only New York City! People from all over the world visit Rockefeller Center for the lighting of the enormous Christmas tree every year. There is a beautiful ice rink just below the plaza’s Prometheus statue, where you can skate and enjoy the 30,000 LED lights twinkling on the plaza’s giant Christmas tree, as well as all of the other dazzling festive decorations that New York City is known for.

If you’re traveling with children, they can once again live every child’s dream of waltzing through the giant Toyland that is FAO Schwarz. The whole family will also enjoy Macy’s Santaland, where you will find toy trains, elves, holiday scenes, and Christmas trees in a beautiful winter wonderland setting.

Holiday Gift Guide: Corporate Travel Edition

You won’t want to miss Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular, with dancing Santas and high-kicking Rockettes, and there are always Christmas specials happening on Broadway! Make sure you book tickets ahead of time, as these popular holiday events sell out quickly.

With so many sights to see and places to visit in New York City during your Christmas travels, reserving limo transportation is the way to go! With safe curbside pick-up and drop-off services, you will not have to find your way around the city, fight traffic, or constantly hunt for a premium parking space.

In addition, your chauffeur and personal concierge will ensure you are on time for your holiday events. You can even enjoy a little holiday cheer along the way with Christmas carols on the premium sound system or a glass of eggnog from the minibar. When you leave the driving to the professionals, you can relax in comfort whether you prefer to travel inTown Cars or a stretch limousine.

Disney World in Orlando, Florida

No matter your age, Disney World is definitely one of the best places to spend the Christmas holidays!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is full of holiday fun and entertainment, and there are spectacular fireworks, Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, and, of course, Santa Claus. Toy Story Land during the holidays is Disney magic at its best! The entire park is a dazzling display of festive lights and Christmas decorations, where memories are made and cherished for a lifetime.

Experiencing South Florida: Luxury In Boca Raton

Epcot Center also prides itself in Christmas entertainment with the Holidays Around the World nighttime candlelight parade and carolers. The Animal Kingdom features a daily holiday parade and millions of Christmas lights twinkle on the Streets of America at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney World is always special, but it is a Christmas extravaganza during the holidays and full of seasonal charm.

Christmas Travel Tip:

Traveling with a Large Group for the Holidays?

Invite your friends and family along for a Christmas party in a bus!

The beautiful bus interior, superior sound system, and seasonal treats will be fun for everyone! Decorate your party bus and bring your favorite holiday music for the ride. Whether you stay on the bus and party the night away or stop at all the hotspots on your list, your professional chauffeur will ensure you and your guests are comfortable and safe.

Sydney, Australia

This destination is one of the most festive holiday cities on the planet. It is summertime in Australia in December, so don’t expect a white Christmas in this locale! However, even in 80-degree weather, Sydney goes all out to create a Christmas wonderland for your pleasure throughout the entire city.

Special holiday sights include:

  • Holiday lights all over the city, including Town Hall,

  • A massive Christmas tree at Martin Place mall,

  • Christmas on the Green in Hyde Park with Santa there to brighten the faces of young and old alike,

  • Christmas Day party at Bondi Beach, one of Sydney’s most popular beaches. There will be dancing to international DJ’s, a Miss Christmas Bikini contest, and beach barbecues all throughout the day.

The Future Of Luxury Travel: The Romotow By W2

Forget everything you know about luxury travel.

A New Zealand-based company, W2 architecture, is preparing to usher in what they’re calling a “mobile home revolution.” The company is currently developing the Romotow, a tow-behind trailer that is unlike anything the world has ever seen.

Travel Green With These Eco-Friendly Travel Tips

Luxury Travel with the Comforts of Home

All travelers want to enjoy themselves as they go about their adventures. Most of the time, however, leaving home means leaving your life and your possessions behind while you’re away. This is where W2 is hoping that the Romotow will make some major changes.

What if you could take your home with you when you go away from home? Well, maybe not your actual home, but possibly a portable living space that you could make your own. The Romotow travel trailer will be a personal mode of luxury ground transportation.

Contemporary Design, Timeless Luxury

The company calls this project “the reinvention of the caravan.” They’ve done away with the boxy designs of yesteryear in favor of a more futuristic streamlined look. This new innovation does for travel trailers what the stretch limousine does for limousine cars. It extends the interior to give you more space for whatever activities you enjoy.

The trailer is a long, pill-like oval-shaped structure to be towed behind your vehicle. Once parked, the automated swivel rotates the living space on a pivot. This places the interior living space perpendicular to its enclosure, revealing a sheltered outdoor area. The newly opened space is perfect for setting up a relaxing patio area. It even has a built-in electric barbecue! Imagine kicking back in this space while grilling out and sipping a cold drink on a beautiful summer’s day.

Breathtaking Travel Destinations: A Traveler’s Best Kept Secrets

Images Courtesy of Romotow

What’s Inside?

This snazzy camper trailer only has one bedroom, but the living room area can also be converted to sleeping space. At full capacity, the Romotow can comfortably house four adults. With the deck enclosure kit, you can add sleeping space for up to four more people by closing in the outdoor deck area.

This isn’t your grandpa’s Airstream. Imagine taking the best limousine features and expanding them onto a livable scale. Camping in one of these is like an extended version of a night on the town in a party van. The interior features wood and leather trim, premium sound system, and built-in shades. The synthetic teak wood used in these trailers is similar to what you would find in a luxury yacht.

Jumping on the Bandwagon

How would you like to be one of the lucky few to experience the Romotow in person? At press time, the first one of these trailers is still in production. The company is, however, taking a limited number of orders. These custom trailers will be shipped from the factory directly to the customer upon completion. You can follow the Romotow’s progress on the project’s Facebook page.

The entry-level price point for the travel trailer is $350,000. Final pricing will vary according to the level of customization.

How To Find The Proper Luxury Transportation Vehicle For Your Next Event

Facing Travel Challenges

Since these trailers aren’t yet available to the general public, we can’t really say how they will affect luxury travel as we know it. However, there are a few points to keep in mind.

Braving the Elements

Driving yourself sounds convenient until you start thinking about how trying it is to drive through bad weather or congested traffic. Part of the luxury travel experience is being able to unwind. You can’t do that if you’re stressing over your driving conditions.

Instead, consider booking a party bus for your next road trip. Your professional chauffeur is there to keep an eye on the road while you kick back and relax.

Venturing Out

Where will you go when you hit the road? When you’re traveling through unfamiliar territory, the game plan can easily change. From new traffic patterns to losing your way, there is a multitude of things that could push back your schedule.

What if you could ride with a professional who knows the area? That’s exactly what you get with a chauffeur. If you need an extra hand getting everything ready to go, personal concierge services give you the help you need.

Thinking Practically

Camping, with or without a travel trailer, is about getting away for a while. While this may be great for a vacation, there are times when isolation can be counterproductive.

You don’t stumble across many business professionals working from the campground. It sounds great to bring all of the comforts of home when you go away. However, the travel trailer model doesn’t fit well with the idea of corporate travel.

Other business professionals will be staying near the event location in accommodations built with them in mind. By keeping to yourself, you would miss out on valuable networking opportunities.

It’s Electric: The Future of Luxury Ground Transportation

Why Wait for Luxury Travel?

Since the first Romotow trailer is still in production, it’s hard to say whether W2 will reach its goal of revolutionizing the way we travel. Even once this trailer is finished, they have only accepted a limited number of orders from clients.

Don’t wait around wishing that you could travel in luxury. There are already beautiful destinations to explore and luxurious ways to get there. From 5-star resorts to tropical getaways, there’s a whole world of opportunities waiting for you to experience it.

There are so many options when it comes to traveling, these days. There’s no reason to settle for less than the best. Luxury ground transportation services provide safety and comfort along every step of your journey.

Relax and enjoy a few sips of the world-renowned local wines. Whether you’re looking to treat your clients or yourself, Vipava Valley is the place to do it.

7 Biggest Safety Tips For International Travel

Business Travel in Paradise

The Vipava Valley (pronounced vi’pa va) is a beautiful valley in the heart of Europe that dates back to 8,000 BC. It is located roughly between the village of Podnanos in Slovenia to the east and stretching to Nova Gorica in the west.

This fertile, wine-rich land is an excellent place to tour by car. Here you will find gourmet treats, rural scenery, fine wineries, and a wide array of resort activities and attractions.

Want to make the experience even better?

Enjoy the view from the back of a luxury car with a professional limousine service!

The valley’s climate is mild sub-Mediterranean. Fruits grow well here, especially grapes, peaches, figs, apricots, and persimmons. In the spring, the fruit trees are covered in blossoms. By fall, the foliage is breathtaking. In Vipava Valley, you will find mountains, lakes, caves, cities, and rivers.

The Main Towns: Vipava and Ajdovscina

Town of Vipava:

Vipava, the principal town of the region, has fewer than 2,000 inhabitants. Touring the historical streets of Vipava really helps to get a feel for the area.

Visitors will find:

  • quaint white and pastel buildings with terracotta roofs,

  • pavement cafes in the main square,

  • the Vinoteca wine museum,

  • gothic churches,

  • gourmet food made with local produce,

  • and, of course, many excellent wines.

To add to its beauty, Vipava has an incredible backdrop of rugged mountains, a green-blue forest with limestone formations, and vineyards heavy with grapes. There are seven springs, where water wells up from the ground all over the town and gorgeous tree-lined pathways along the river.

The Vinoteca wine museum offers wine tastings of over 160 wines, representing 45 different winemakers from all of the surrounding villages in the Vipava Valley.

Town of Ajdovscina:

This ancient village has a population of 6,700 and is located only 20 km from the Italian border. Ajdovscina dates back to 2,000 BC and was under Italy’s administration until 1947.

Following World War II, Ajdovscina became the economic and cultural center of the upper Vipava Valley, with major industries, including construction, textile fabrics, furniture, and food and beverages.

Discover the remains of the fortress of Castra, three historical churches, and the local railway station. In the near surrounding area stands the stone arch bridge of Dolenje Trilek Castle and the Otlica Window.

Learn all about winemaking while enjoying a variety of the indigenous wines of Vipava Valley. You may even pick up a few Slovenian national toast songs.

  • The area is well known for its unique dry white wines, such as Zelen and Pinela grape varieties. They also produce red wines, such as pinot noir, merlot, and aromatic semi-sweet Muscat dessert wines.

7 Biggest Safety Tips For International Travel

International travel is popular with the tourist and business professional crowds.

Whether you’re on the road for business travel or wanderlust, overseas adventures require extra precautions.

Here Are Seven Of The Biggest
Safety Tips For Traveling Abroad:

Airport Travel

International Travel Don’ts

#1. Don’t Carry Everything With You

The less you carry, the less there is to lose. Only carry personal documents that you need at the airport or checkpoints. Always check what documents you will need to get into and out of the countries where you’re traveling. Make sure to pack only what you need, then leave the rest.

Write a checklist for everything you need. As you cross it off, make duplicate copies of important documents. That way if anything does go missing, you have the information that you’ll need to make cancellations and replacements easier.

List the important things like:

◦ Birth certificates
◦ Passports
◦ Credit cards
Anything else with personal info or account numbers

Leave expensive jewelry at home. Luxury travel can give you the urge to want to dress up and live large.

However, that isn’t always the best idea. Walking around dripping in diamonds is like painting a target on your back. Not only will you be more desirable to thieves, but you’ll also have more to lose.

Try not to carry large amounts of cash. Split what cash and cards you carry into different places. That way, if anyone does make off with your wallet, you haven’t lost everything.

Need A Hand Carrying Your Luggage?

Our Personal Concierge Team Will Provide That Service!

#2. Don’t Risk Your Safety to Save Money

Airport travel can be costly. Hotel accommodations can seem that way, too. However, it’s better to pay more upfront than to have to worry about your safety later.

That motel that looks a little rough online could be much scarier in real life. Airbnb type rentals are not legal in all areas. Make sure that your hotel is a reputable one, even if it costs a bit more.

Check that the rooms have good, secure locks and that the area is safe. With a hotel in a secure area, you won’t have to worry about locking your items in a safe. If your room does have one, the extra level of security never hurts. Just be aware that there may be a fee to use the safe.

Need A Protective BodyGuard Service?

Our Chauffeurs Can Do That!

#3. Don’t Rely on Public Wi-Fi

Hackers are always on the lookout for ways to steal your information.

Internet cafés are convenient for grabbing a coffee while you work on the go. Just don’t trust the public WiFi with sensitive information like your passwords or credit card numbers.

Be mindful of limitation on your wireless service. Some phones will not work outside of your local region. People who frequently travel for corporate business often have global capable devices. Check with your provider to see if your phone will work outside of your country. If not, you may be able to get an international SIM card to fix that.

Not all countries have widespread WiFi access. If you are traveling through one of them, you could burn up your data limits quickly. You may want to adjust your cell phone plan before you travel.

The Ultimate Coffee Shops For Laptop Warriors

International Travel Do’s

#4. Do Cover All Your Bases

Better safe than sorry is cliché, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not true.

Health is a major priority for travelers. Visit your doctor for a checkup. Traveling while sick puts you and fellow travelers at risk. Consider updating your vaccines. Make sure to eat well and take your multivitamins regularly. Traveling with a weakened immune system makes you more likely to pick up any bugs going around.

There are several types of insurance policies that could help when things don’t go according to plan. Travel insurance covers financial investments, like lost luggage or flight cancellations. Travel medical insurance and medical evacuation services would cover some medical costs in an emergency. Research insurance providers to find the right coverage for you.

Destination Travel Sounds Good!

Don’t Miss: Breathtaking Travel Destinations: A Traveler’s Best Kept Secrets!

#5 Do Research Your Destination

Remember the phrase “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”

Cultures are very different from one country to the next. Look at the social norms of your host country before you go. Some things you might think are innocent could offend the locals. They could even land you in jail. Try explaining that you missed an important business meeting because you got arrested!

Pack more than just your corporate meeting clothes. Blending in with the locals makes you look less like a tourist. It is also a sign of respect. People will react much better to an outsider who adopts some local customs than one that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Not every corner of the world is a friendly one. No matter how beautiful a city may be by day, that could all change come nightfall. Pickpockets could be nearby any time of day. Getting lost by just a few blocks could land you in a dangerous part of town. Explore, but don’t venture too far from tourists areas in an unfamiliar country, especially if you don’t speak the language.

#6. Do Stay Aware of Your Surroundings

Have a good time, but don’t let your guard down too far.

Even if you aren’t drinking alcohol, don’t leave your drink unattended. Don’t rely on someone to watch your drink for you, either. Try to finish your drinks or take them with you.

You can be friendly, but don’t give strangers too much of your life story. Anyone could overhear where you’re staying. Try not to mention working for a high profile company or client.

If you’re carrying a bag, try to keep it to your front. In a restaurant, set it on your lap or feet rather than a chair back. You can never be too careful in new territory.

#7. Do Locate Reliable Ground Transportation

Don’t underestimate the value of a trustworthy limousine company.

A1A Airport and Limousine Service have global partners and affiliates in over 800 cities, worldwide. Flying into an unfamiliar area could make finding a ride from the airport difficult. A1A Limo can secure your airport limo shuttle before you fly out. Your professional chauffeur will be a friendly face to meet you at the airport and help you with your bags.

Booking a limousine rental cuts out the worry of getting lost. Your limo chauffeur drives your host country’s roads daily and will know the safest routes. Don’t let being in an unfamiliar place make you uncomfortable. Instead of cramming into a taxi, relax with the spacious limousine interior and comfy plush seating.

Riding in a luxury car isn’t all about being flashy. While black car service will make a good impression, it’s also about safety. The dark-paned windows of a stretch limousine hide who’s inside, protecting your identity and location.

Could Limousine Rental Be Your Saving Grace This Holiday Season?

The seasons are arriving!

As you start your holiday planning, don’t forget to put limousine rental on the list. It’s never too early to begin planning for the holidays.

You probably have a few lists started at this point, detailing everything from:

  • Gift Wishlists
  • Potential Vacation Locations
  • Holiday Card Mailing Lists
  • And more!

With so much to do, arranging transportation with a limousine company can really streamline your preparations.

Booking a Limousine Rental Will Help You
This Holiday Season

Keep The Family Together On Special Occasions

Keep the Family Together

If you’ve got a large family, you know how difficult it is to get everyone in the same place, much less keep them there for long. Inevitably someone wants to argue about who they’re riding with or sitting next to until you actually head out.

A limousine service provides a wide selection of vehicles in various seating capacities. No one has to get upset about not being able to ride with their favorite cousin, because everybody can ride together.

Don't Get Lost

Ensure No One Gets Lost

Another issue with traveling in large groups is that multiple vehicles mean multiple drivers.

This can mean that:

  • Some know the way better than others.
  • Or may drive faster or slower than others.

These minor differences add up in a big way when you’re trying to keep everyone together. When you’re relying on the driver ahead of you for directions, missing a turn or traffic light can get you lost.

Chauffeur service guarantees you a professional driver who knows the best routes, so no one gets left behind.

Ride Safe In A Limo

Make Sure Everyone Travels Safely

Whether your travel destination is near or far, arriving safely is important. A professional chauffeur service requires that all of its chauffeurs undergo rigorous training.

Unlike a taxi driver, riding with a chauffeur is a luxury travel service. Your chauffeur isn’t worried about getting to the next point to pick up the next passenger as quickly as possible.

A limo driver is a professional who is committed to getting you and your loved ones to your destination safely, in style and luxury.

What Is A Limo Service Without Its Chauffeur?

Chauffeur's Relieve Driving Stress

Reduce Travel Stress

Holiday travel means lots of people on the roadways. If you’re driving in an unfamiliar area, it’s easy to feel a little frazzled.

Add into that the kids in the backseat asking where you’re going and how much longer to Grandma’s house and anyone’s nerves would be worn thin.

Riding inside a limo is definitely a more relaxing way to travel. The chauffeur drives so you don’t have to, and you can put up the partition if you want to enjoy your family time more privately.

The plush seats are super comfortable, and everyone has plenty of legroom. You can even chill your wine in the minibar to enjoy a glass on the go!

10 Limousine Fun Facts: What You Didn’t Know!

Money Saving With Limo

Save Time & Money

The holiday season is a busy time. There are more people traveling than any other time of the year.

Don’t wait until the last minute to try to arrange your transportation services.

  • Trying to find a cab could take forever.
  • Lyft and Uber drivers are likely to be overwhelmed by the increased demand.

Booking your limo rental early gives you less to worry about because you will know that you have a ride and exactly when it is coming.

Not to mention that the limousine price can be much cheaper than a taxi or other ride service with varying unpredictable rates.

Where Your Limousine Rental
Can Take You

Airport Transfers

Are you flying in to visit family this season?

If airport travel is part of your holiday in any way, then an airport shuttle will really come in handy.
Consider these factors!

  • No waiting around for a cab.
    • Taxi Cabs are known to likely leave you waiting a long time and paying unpredictable rates.
  • Book your ride ahead of time.
  • You don’t have to deal with the stress of navigating out of the airport.

After your flight, you can relax while your chauffeur gets you and your loved ones from the airport to your hotel or wherever your drop-off point may be.

When it’s time to go home, your airport shuttle will again be ready to pick you up and get you back to the airport with plenty of time to catch your flight.

Special Occasions

Holiday Parties

Are you heading to an office holiday party with your colleagues?

A business event shuttle works for holiday parties, too!

For the business professional who wants to make an impression, nothing does it like showing up to the venue in a luxury car.

If the event is more of a gala where you and your date will be wearing your tuxedo and ball gown, the best accessory is a sleek stretch limousine.

If everyone in the office is riding together, take an executive van with plenty of seating and legroom for everyone.

When they say everything is bigger in Texas. that goes for the parties, too. Don’t let the state’s reputation for cowboy hats and country music fool you. You will find that, but also so much more in the city of Austin.

Austin City Limits Music Festival is a party so huge that it spans two weekends.

  • This year’s dates are October 5-7 and 12-14.

Artists that you would never think of drawing the same crowd will share the ACL stage.

Just to name a few:

Live jazz music fills the air all through the French Quarter and keeps the party spirit going.

Speaking of spirits, the rich history of the area has earned NOLA a firm place on the list of the country’s most haunted places.

  • Halloween parties are huge, so keep that in mind if you love spooky stuff.

4) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The city of brotherly love has quite the nightlife scene. From dive bars to rooftop hangouts, Philly has it all.

Want to grab a bite to start off your night? Looking for late-night grub after the club? With many kitchens open until 1 a.m., Philly’s food scene is no joke.

With a name like Charlie Was a Sinner, you might think you’d be heading into an indie film showing.

  • Instead, what you’ll find inside is a vegan menu and an interesting backstory.
  • Located in what was once a pretty seedy area, the cheekily named restaurant lets you know where its priorities are by listing drinks front and center on the menu.

From November to March, the Blue Cross RiverRink becomes a winter wonderland.

  • After a few laps on the riverfront ice rink, head inside The Lodge Restaurant and Bar to warm up with seasonal cocktails and local craft brews.

Airport Etiquette: How To Travel Like A Boss

“You know… the airport is the only place you can walk around with no shoes,
a glazed look on your face, and sleep on the benches and no one judges you.”

― Coriander Woodruff, The Call of the Spectacled Owl

Traveling can either be extremely exciting or a necessary evil. You see all kinds of people at the airport, from the leisurely tourist to the fast-walking business professional.

Everyone has somewhere to be and most are in a hurry to get there. Following these tips will not only make the trip a lot less stressful for you, but easier for everyone else, too.

et·i·quette: (noun)
The customary code of polite behavior in society or among members of a particular profession or group.

Beat The Clock: Save Time During Airport Travel

Simple Rules of Etiquette at the Airport

What you need to know.

#1) Be On-Time

You know what time your flight is scheduled to take off. What you don’t know is, exactly how long it will take to get through security.

Be sure to show up with plenty of time to:

  • Check your bags.
  • Get through screening.
  • Find your gate without having to rush.

Providing your own transportation can sometimes present an issue. You may think that you’ve arrived with plenty of time to catch your flight, but did you factor in time to find a parking space?

Once you’ve found a spot, you then have to get from the car to the terminal, which could be quite far away.

Consider booking a professional chauffeur to avoid airport parking issues, altogether. Reserving a limousine rental will also ensure that you have a ride ready when you land.

That means you won’t have to waste time waiting on a taxi or other ride service.

#2) Be Prepared

Print out as many of your documents as you can at home. Many airlines now let you check-in online up to 24 hours before your flight. You may then print out your boarding pass and skip the check-in line at the airport.

Keep your ID or passport handy. You will have to show these documents repeatedly.

There is no need to put them away. If you do, you’re only going to slow yourself and everyone else down later while you rummage through your things.

Expect security to go through your things. You hope that they won’t, but know that they have the right to do so if they feel the need. To make things easier, only pack what you need.

Make sure to check The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) guidelines for prohibited items and leave them at home.

  • Pack any necessary medications in their original packaging and be ready to provide prescriptions, just in case.
  • If bringing any liquids, be sure to pack them according to the 3-1-1 rule:
    ▪ Use three 4 oz. containers.
    ▪ Keep them in one Ziploc bag.
    ▪ Only one per person.

#3) Dress Appropriately

You may be headed for a luxury travel destination, but everyone doesn’t need to know that just by looking at you. Don’t wear or carry any valuables that you are not comfortable removing and placing into bins for scanning.

Avoid wearing metallic accessories.

  • Belts, especially those with large buckles, can set off metal detectors.
  • Large earrings or bulky metal jewelry can also set them off.

The more items that you have to remove, the more bins you have to use and the longer your clearance takes.

Don’t wear too many layers. Think about it this way. You know you have to remove jackets and shoes to go through the metal detectors.

  • Slip-on shoes are great for traveling because you can get them on and off quickly and easily.

#4) Pay Attention & Follow Directions

Your pilot and flight attendants are to your flight what your chauffeur is to a stretch limousine. They are professionals who are there to provide the best service to everyone on board.

If someone gives you instructions, it’s for a reason. Just follow along and everything will go smoothly.

Try not to get distracted. Shopping or grabbing a bite to eat is fine, but listen out for any announcements. Know your flight information or have it handy for reference.

When the flight attendant makes announcements about your flight, listen. If you ignore them now, you will only annoy them later when you have to ask questions that they already answered.

#5) Stay in Your Area

Don’t take up too much space. Being comfortable is one thing. Acting like you own the place is something else.

When the airport is crowded, keep bags out of unoccupied chairs. Spreading out too far also makes it harder to grab your things and run if there are any last minutes gate changes.

Charging stations are awesome. Invading other people’s personal space is not.

  • If you can help it, don’t try to share outlets.
    • Your fellow travelers likely want to savor what little time they have to enjoy sitting by themselves while they can.
  • Also, don’t unplug someone else’s device to charge your own.
    • It’s just rude. There’s plenty of juice in the outlet for everyone.
  • Charge up a portable battery ahead of time to keep your devices powered on when there’s nowhere to plug in.

Once you’re on the plane, get your bag put away to find your seat quickly.

Remember that the plane is not your personal party bus.

  • Try to keep your noise level to an acceptable level.
  • Don’t wander aimlessly around the cabin, just because the seatbelt light is off.

When picking your seat, be mindful of any special accommodations that you may need.

  • If you like to sleep on the plane, a window seat may be best.
    • You can lean against the plane wall and save yourself the embarrassment of falling asleep on a stranger’s shoulder.
  • For those who make frequent bathroom trips, pick an aisle seat.
    • This way you don’t have to climb over everyone when you need to get up.

Breathtaking Travel Destinations: A Traveler’s Best Kept Secrets

#6) Keep Moving

Be nice to those around you, but navigating the airport is no time for small talk. The security agents are not your friends. Neither are the flight attendants or other workers.

Everyone has somewhere to be or a job to do. Chatting them up slows everyone down. It’s not friendly; it’s selfish.

Don’t stand in the way staring into space. If you are lost, ask for directions.

  • If you need to use your phone, get off of the main walkway before you do.

Don’t argue with TSA. Getting through security can be frustrating, but the agents have a job to do.

  • Don’t argue when they ask you to remove your shoes, jewelry, or other accessories.
  • If you have any questions about what is or isn’t allowed through the checkpoint, call ahead.
    • The TSA has a toll free number (1-855-787-2227) just for these questions.
